According to the Financial Times, the inside candidates to replace Lawrence Summers and Derek Bok include two women

• Drew Gilpin Faust, dean of the Radcliffe IAS, a feminist historian,
• Elena Kagan, dean of the Harvard law school, please add all compliments here.

The external candidates who are being discussed include

• Condoleeza Rice, please add compliments here,
• Al Gore '69.

In the last entertaining scenario that would no longer shock me, those who will stay will probably be equipped with a personal carbon dioxide meter, among other things. :-) The renegade band of rightwing extremists at Harvard would certainly enter a very happy era.
